Love Bucket Photo bio picture

Welcome...

...to LOVE BUCKET photo's fabulous blog! Here I am posting sneak peeks of recent sessions as well as information on everything else I do and offer. ( > Check out all the awesome things you can do with your precious photographs in the inspiration section under the info tab).

A little bit about myself… I am so lucky to do what I do: I get to create truly meaningful photographs that will be cherished for years and generations to come. This must be the most rewarding aspect of my profession and comes with responsibility!     My family and wedding portraiture can best be described as colorful, whimsical, spontaneous, contemporary, and a bit “larger than life.” I strive to capture those precious moments and interactions that are so fleeting and turn them into a piece of art. While my coverage is very journalistic, I do include posed shots that are more stylized. I am all about variety -  let’s change the outfit, angle, backdrop, mood…I want you to walk away with a whole album of beautiful memories.

Besides the fact that I have always loved photography…I was born in former East-Germany where I lived until my family migrated to West-Berlin in 1989 (exactly six days before the fall of the Berlin Wall). I lived, studied, and worked in Germany most of my life until I met my husband and followed him to the United States. After working in photography both commercially and artistically for a number of years, I received my MFA in photography in 2007 at SCAD and now live with my husband and two sons in Venice, CA. My work has been published and exhibited internationally in cities like Berlin, Atlanta, Savannah, and Los Angeles.

What is up with the weather this season??!! This is the 4th rained out session this spring… Well, since there was a lot of family in town for Laurel’s 2nd birthday, we couldn’t postpone and so I created a sweet little set indoors. rainy vineyard wedding

Where do I start…wow, what a crazy day this was! It all started with a super last minute venue change (we are talking 24 hrs prior and no new venue yet!!), double bookings, loss of power, and on top of that a downpour 10 min before the outdoor ceremony was about to start. Just terrible...
