Love Bucket Photo bio picture

Welcome...

...to LOVE BUCKET photo's fabulous blog! Here I am posting sneak peeks of recent sessions as well as information on everything else I do and offer. ( > Check out all the awesome things you can do with your precious photographs in the inspiration section under the info tab).

A little bit about myself… I am so lucky to do what I do: I get to create truly meaningful photographs that will be cherished for years and generations to come. This must be the most rewarding aspect of my profession and comes with responsibility!     My family and wedding portraiture can best be described as colorful, whimsical, spontaneous, contemporary, and a bit “larger than life.” I strive to capture those precious moments and interactions that are so fleeting and turn them into a piece of art. While my coverage is very journalistic, I do include posed shots that are more stylized. I am all about variety -  let’s change the outfit, angle, backdrop, mood…I want you to walk away with a whole album of beautiful memories.

Besides the fact that I have always loved photography…I was born in former East-Germany where I lived until my family migrated to West-Berlin in 1989 (exactly six days before the fall of the Berlin Wall). I lived, studied, and worked in Germany most of my life until I met my husband and followed him to the United States. After working in photography both commercially and artistically for a number of years, I received my MFA in photography in 2007 at SCAD and now live with my husband and two sons in Venice, CA. My work has been published and exhibited internationally in cities like Berlin, Atlanta, Savannah, and Los Angeles.

Baby Max

Welcome to the world, baby Max! You are one precious little guy…it was a pleasure to meet you :-)

belly #2

I love when clients return for more fabulous photos :-) (see our first shoot here). Now Lindsay is having her second baby and I got to meet the beautiful Laurel…isn’t she precious?! Once again congratulations, Lindsay & family!

Happy Birthday, Emilia!

It’s more of a belated birthday at this point but I did want to share these cute images of a DIY birthday party I shot a couple of months ago…(You can tell mommy has a background in set design ;-) ). I love the color palette and creativity that went this magical fairy party. It was fun celebrating with you, Emilia! Happy Birthday…

Cousin Valerie

Well she is not really my cousin but the daughter of my second cousin – so still family :-) It was great to catch up with everyone at home in Germany a few weeks ago. I miss all my friends and family over there! So meet little Valerie and her parents…liebe Gruesse nach Hause!!

Liam & Anais #3

I cannot believe how much time has passed since my last entry…it’s been a crazy few months with lots of travels, photo sessions, and family adventures!  It may seem early but I am already getting ready for the Holiday season and sessions are booking fast – so make sure to reserve a spot if you would like your pictures in time for Holidays… I will post info on specials and new products soon.

Now take a look at this lovely beach shoot. This is from our third session since Anais was born. Crazy how much kids grow within a year (see session #1, and #2 here). SO CUTE! I am so bummed that this sweet family will relocate to NYC soon :-( We will miss you in sunny LA!

Christopher

Christopher is 3 month old and super cute! See for yourself :-) It will be fun to see him grow throughout the year… Can’t wait to see you again in the fall!

Happy Mother’s Day

I can’t believe Rowan is already 8 month old…time flies! We took these great shots at Rowan’s home last fall and I was excited to see this energetic bunch again for Mother’s Day. We had a lot of fun in the sand and the weather was just perfect for beautiful beach portraits. Happy Mother’s Day to you, Margaret as well as all the tough mamas out there!

Just married!

I have been looking forward to this day for about a year and it finally happened…Anna & Jeremy got married! We had a great engagement session last year and I have to say the wedding was even more of a treat to photograph. These two really did a fantastic job putting this awesome event together (with the help of the very hardworking Theresa and her team from Hustle & Bustle Wedding Coordination and the staff of Lobo Castle in Agoura, CA). I love all the details like the banners and paper flowers that went into the styling of this “royal wedding” (most of which Anna crafted herself – wow!).  Thank you Anna & Jeremy for letting me capture your special day! Congratulations!

Harry & the Hitmen
