Meet sophie
Hi! A little bit about myself ... I am a native German who grew up behind the iron curtain in former East-Germany until I was 10 years old. Just 10 years later, I fell for a handsome fellow traveler while on vacation in Portugal & moved to the United States. And now, we've been married for 20 years and have two teenage sons. Talk about "time flies"!
In terms of photography, I started modeling in Berlin in my teens, but soon realized my real passion was behind the camera. To gain experience, I began assisting photographers like Lauren Greenfield and went on to earn my Masters of Fine Arts degree at SCAD in 2007. Shortly after, I moved to Venice and opened my boutique photo studio, and I honestly can’t imagine a better job!
My brand & style embodies the California lifestyle: effortless, casual, & luxurious - with a pop of color and some wind in your hair.
I aim to capture spontaneous, authentic moments in an unobtrusive way — but I’m also not afraid to help set playful scenes that put you at ease and allow me to step back and let the magic of your family interactions emerge.
